Common Phone Connection Failure Causes

When a connection fails, an error popup appears. You can determine the failure cause based on the detection result and perform corresponding troubleshooting.

Connection Timeout

Possible causes:

  • Weak or unstable network signal
  • Slow device response
  • Firewall blocking the connection
  • Network congestion

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check Wi-Fi signal strength
  • Ensure both phone and device Wi-Fi signals are within good range

– Try moving closer to the router

  1. Restart network equipment
  • Restart the router (power off for 30 seconds then turn on)

– Restart the Wi-Fi connection of the device and phone

  1. Check network load
  • Pause large downloads on other devices

– Reduce the number of simultaneously connected devices

  1. Switch network band
  • If using 2.4GHz, try switching to 5GHz (if the device supports it)

– Or switch from 5GHz to 2.4GHz

Connection Failed

Possible causes:

  • Temporary network fluctuation
  • Device is starting up
  • Port occupied

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Wait a moment and retry
  • Wait 10-30 seconds and try connecting again
  1. Check device status
  • Confirm the device is fully started (usually takes 1-2 minutes)

– Check whether the device screen displays normally

  1. Reconnect
  • Tap the "Reconnect" button in the app

– Or return to the device list and re-select the device

Connection Interrupted by Device, Please Retry

Possible causes:

  • Device actively disconnected
  • Device restarted or powered off
  • Device service crashed

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check device status
  • Confirm whether the device is running normally

– Check whether the device screen shows any abnormal prompts

  1. Restart the device
  • Long-press the device power button to shut down

– Wait 10 seconds and power on again

– Wait for the device to fully start, then reconnect

  1. Check device firmware
  • Go to device "Settings > About > Firmware Upgrade"

– Check for available updates

Device Service Not Started, Please Check Device Status

Possible causes:

  • Device control service not running
  • Device just started, service not ready
  • Device system abnormal

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Wait for the device to fully start
  • The device needs 1-2 minutes to start all services after powering on

– Wait for the device screen to display the main interface

  1. Start the control service on the device
  • Go to device "Settings > Network > Phone Control"

– Confirm the "Phone Control Service" function is enabled

– Tap the "Refresh" button to reset the service

  1. Restart the device
  • If the service still hasn't started, try restarting the device

– After the device restarts, wait 2 minutes before connecting

Device Service Abnormal, Please Restart the Device

Possible causes:

  • Device service crashed
  • Insufficient system resources
  • Firmware bug

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Restart the device (recommended)
  • Method 1: Press the device power button and select "Restart"

– Method 2: Tap "Restart Device" in the app

– Wait for the device to fully restart, then reconnect

  1. Clear device cache
  • Go to device "Settings > About > Running Memory"

– Clear unnecessary cache files

  1. Factory Reset (last resort)
  • ⚠️ Note: This operation will erase all data

– Go to device "Settings > About > Factory Reset"

– Reconfigure the device after reset

Device Unreachable: Check Local LAN Reachability

Possible causes:

  • Phone and device are not on a reachable local LAN, for example because of guest or client isolation.
  • Device IP address has changed
  • Router isolated the device
  • Device powered off or disconnected

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Confirm reachable local LAN
  • Phone: check the current Wi-Fi or wired network connection.

Device: open Settings → Network and check the active connection. The device may use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi when the router allows the two clients to communicate.

– Check that both devices are on the same reachable LAN. The player may use Ethernet while the phone uses Wi-Fi; matching Wi-Fi names alone do not establish reachability.

  1. Check device IP address
  • On the device: view "Settings > Network > Wi-Fi"

– Record the device IP address

– Try manually adding the device in the app (using this IP)

  1. Check router settings
  • Log in to the router management interface

– Confirm "AP Isolation" or "Guest Network Isolation" is not enabled

– Confirm the device is in the router's device list

  1. Reconnect to network
  • Disconnect Wi-Fi on the device

– Reconnect to the correct Wi-Fi network

– Re-search for the device in the app

💡 Tip: If you can use it normally when connected to a phone hotspot but cannot use it when connected to router Wi-Fi, it is highly likely that your router has enabled the "AP Isolation" function. Please refer to step 3 to disable this function.

Network Unreachable, Please Check Wi-Fi Connection

Possible causes:

  • Phone not connected to Wi-Fi
  • Wi-Fi network failure
  • Router failure

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check phone Wi-Fi connection
  • Open phone "Settings > Wi-Fi"

– Confirm connected to Wi-Fi (not mobile data)

– Try accessing a webpage to test the network

  1. Restart Wi-Fi connection
  • Turn off phone Wi-Fi, wait 5 seconds

– Turn Wi-Fi back on

– Reconnect to the network

  1. Check the router
  • Check whether the router indicator lights are normal

– Try restarting the router

– Check whether other devices can access the internet normally

Cannot Connect to This IP

Possible causes:

  • Incorrect IP address entered
  • Device IP has changed
  • Device powered off
  • Network isolation

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify the IP address
  • View the current IP on the device: "Settings > Network"

– Confirm the IP address format is correct (e.g. 192.168.1.100)

– Re-enter the correct IP address

  1. Use auto-discovery
  • Return to the app home page

– Tap "Add Device > Search Device"

– Let the app auto-search for the device

  1. Ping test (advanced)
  • Use a network tool app to test whether the device IP is reachable

– A failed ping can indicate a reachability problem, but it is not conclusive: ICMP may be blocked even when the app connection can work. Use it together with the device status and app discovery result.

Phone and Device Not on the Same Subnet

Description: A subnet is determined by the IP address and subnet mask. Only on a typical 255.255.255.0 (/24) network do the first three address segments identify the subnet. With any other mask, do not use the first-three-segment shortcut; evaluate the mask or ask the network administrator.

Possible causes:

  • Phone and device connected to different subnets
  • Router configured with multiple VLANs
  • Guest network used

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check IP address subnet
  • Phone IP: Open "Settings > Wi-Fi > Current Network Details"

– Device IP: View "Settings > Network > Network Info" on the device

– For a 255.255.255.0 (/24) network, compare whether the first three segments are consistent. With another subnet mask, use the mask to determine reachability or ask the network administrator.
Example:

– ✅ Phone: 192.168.1.10, Device: 192.168.1.20 (same subnet)

– ❌ Phone: 192.168.1.10, Device: 192.168.2.20 (different subnet)

  1. Connect to the same network
  • Ensure the phone and device are connected to the same reachable LAN; a wired player and a Wi-Fi phone can communicate through the same router.

– Avoid using the guest network

  1. Check router configuration
  • If using an enterprise-grade router, VLANs may be configured

– Contact the network administrator to confirm the devices are on the same subnet
