KAIBOER Previews DMP-K7 PRO with Isolated Power and Dual-DAC Options

KAIBOER’s original DMP-K7 PRO preview responds to a familiar request from listeners: bring digital playback and DAC conversion into one convenient component while retaining the attention to power and signal-path design associated with separate equipment.

The earlier DMP-K7 was a dedicated digital transport for use with an external DAC. The PRO preview adds an integrated decoding stage, aiming to reduce the number of separate boxes needed for a complete front end.

Separate power paths inside one chassis

The preview describes isolated supplies for the digital playback and analog decoding sections. A switching supply powers file access and system processing, while a dedicated toroidal linear supply serves the DAC section.

With selected audio capacitors and filtering, the original laboratory specification cites DAC-supply ripple of 20 µV. The design objective is to limit unwanted interaction between the digital processing circuitry and the analog stage.

Two dual-DAC configurations

The original preview describes a standard configuration using two ESS ES9039Q2M chips and an advanced configuration using two ES9039PRO chips. Both are listed for supported DSD512 decoding and PCM up to 32-bit/768 kHz.

The laboratory figures in the preview give XLR output of 4.5 Vrms and RCA output of 2.5 Vrms for both configurations. Reported dynamic range is 129 dB for the Q2M version and 135 dB for the PRO version, with THD+N below 0.00008% and 0.00006% respectively under the stated test conditions.

The source also discusses the operational-amplifier arrangement as part of the analog design, emphasizing low background noise and consistent behavior through the audio range. These figures belong to the configurations and tests described by the original preview.

MUPURE develops alongside the hardware

The player carries forward the DMP-K7’s MUPURE environment. The source describes six software-development iterations informed by user feedback, an expanded DAC-control section and continued support for intelligent library management.

Storage options include an internal M.2 SSD up to 8 TB, external drives, NAS access and supported cloud libraries. Targeted optimization for around 20 streaming applications is part of the platform described in the preview.

When used as a digital transport with an appropriate external DAC, the supported playback paths are listed up to DSD1024 and PCM up to 1536 kHz. Those transport figures are separate from the internal DAC’s decoding limits.

Optional processing and remote control

MUPURE includes optional sample-rate processing and mobile control through the companion app. Upsampling is a processing choice and does not recover information that was absent from the original recording.

The preview connects the product’s two sides: a playback environment inherited from DMP-K7 and decoding experience drawn from KAIBOER’s A5 and A8 developments. It described an upcoming mid-to-late-June launch window and launch-month benefits; those plans belong to the archived preview rather than a current release schedule or offer.

The DMP-K7 PRO’s proposition is integration with deliberate internal separation: source access, connected control and dual-DAC conversion brought into a single Hi-Fi component.
