The KAIBOER DMP-K8 digital music player is now available through KAIBOER’s official Tmall and JD.com stores in China. It brings a new intelligent source platform to listeners who prefer to use their own DAC.

Following the digital music product event on December 29, 2025, KAIBOER built a range of more than ten high-end digital transports, integrated streamer/DACs and DACs. The company’s original announcement reported strong sales on Chinese e-commerce platforms, particularly for the DMP-K8 PRO in its competitive price segment.

One request continued to appear in customer feedback: a flagship digital transport priced below RMB 10,000. The DMP-K8 answers that request, with an announced Chinese launch price of RMB 5,980.

A dedicated hub for an external DAC

Unlike the DMP-K8 PRO integrated streamer/DAC/CD player, the DMP-K8 has no built-in DAC. Its role is to connect existing digital-to-analog equipment to an intelligent music platform with flexible source access and AI-assisted music information.

The hardware includes a 7.8-inch display, IDE-enhanced CD reading and ripping, two SSD expansion positions, a dedicated linear power supply and 8 GB of RAM.

PureOS provides system-wide bypass of Android sample-rate conversion, AI-assisted music information, K-Link cloud-drive access, local high-resolution file playback and installation of mainstream domestic and international streaming apps.

The DMP-K8 is intended to reduce the limitations of simple transports and the repeated setup work associated with PC audio. It can partner with stand-alone DACs, DAC/preamplifiers, DAC/headphone amplifiers, active speakers with digital inputs and compatible compact USB DACs, serving both separate-component systems and simpler home listening arrangements.

PureOS and AI-assisted listening

PureOS integrates large language model features to provide song background, creative stories and artist introductions. This adds context to listening without replacing the music itself.

HQPlayer playback upsampling and Curvora-generated upsampling offer further listening options. The original launch announcement also described forthcoming API integrations with leading streaming services and features tailored to Chinese Hi-Fi listening habits.

Ongoing firmware development and support

KAIBOER’s audio laboratory will continue developing PureOS firmware. A development feedback channel is available for less common bugs, while the official forum gives users access to the engineering team for questions and suggestions.

The Chinese launch announcement also described a seven-day return arrangement that allowed customers to open and audition the device. That statement related to the original Chinese sales channel; purchasers in other markets should refer to the terms provided by their seller.

The DMP-K8 brings digital playback, modern controls and multiple music sources into one dedicated transport, helping users upgrade an existing DAC-based system with fewer separate devices to manage.
